Hawke has been involved in information technology, software development, and engineering companies since 1981. He has been involved with the security industry since 1989. He has worked as CIO for a retail & network services company (PC Easy), CTO for an online publishing company (MightyWords Inc.), instructor for Novell through Hot Labs, systems and components corporate architect for Franklin Covey, a guest speaker at technology schools, and an independent technology consultant since 1981.

Hawke Robinson has also been published by the SANS Institute, for his research work on "Vulnerabilities in Microsoft's Implementation of PPTP". Industry backgrounds include: education, automotive, media, publishing, Internet, medical, document managent, workflow, physical and "information" security, software development, government agencies, mining & civil engineering. Hawke has personally implemented hundreds of companies VPNs, permissions handling systems, directory services, firewalls, development environments, and other infrastructure.
